Help for individuals and families

Self-employed individuals can claim a Credit for Sick and Family Leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act through their Individual Income Tax Return Form 1040.

To claim this credit is based on the number of days they were unable to work due to Covid-19 restrictions. Eligible restrictions include government-ordered quarantine, seeking medical diagnosis for Covid-19 symptoms, and caring for an individual affected by Covid-19, such as a child whose school or childcare provider is closed due to Covid-19 precautions.

You can still get self employed credit, even if you already filed your 2019, 2020, 2021 return

This credit is available in 2020 and in 2021. If you have already filed your 2020 return, you may consider amending your return to obtain and possibly refund the credit. Please contact us to review your specific situation and to discuss the full range of qualifying events and credit eligible days.

If you’ve been financially affected by COVID-19, you may be eligible for:

Qualified Sick Leave Credit

Qualified Family Leave Credit

Average Daily Self-employment Income
